At the ninth annual Billboard Music
Awards in Las Vegas, the mere mention of the Backstreet Boys generated blood-curdling screams
("I love you!") from the younger female audience members, and Stevie Wonder received a standing
ovation when he presented Mariah Carey with a special award for being the female solo artist
with the most No. I songs ever. (Thirteen, to be exact. The ball's in your court, Whitney.)
But it was Courtney Love who stole the show. During a commercial break in the live telecast,
Love, who performed with her band, Hole, lifted her long skirt over her hips, revealing plenty
of her celebrity skin. And no underpants.
